A self-clinching through-hole threaded standoff is a type of fastener designed to provide a threaded hole in thin sheet metal applications. These standoffs are installed by pressing them into a pre-punched hole in the sheet metal, where the clinching action secures the standoff in place. The threaded hole allows for the attachment of other components, such as circuit boards or panels, using standard screws.

Type SOS Stand Offs are made from 300 Series Stainless steel and are recommended for installation in steel or aluminium sheets of HRB 70 / HB125 or less.
