Internal Reference: PT-S-M3.5-1

Self-clinching nuts are permanently installed threaded fasteners designed to provide strong, reusable threads in thin sheet metal and other ductile materials. These nuts are installed by placing them into properly sized holes and applying a parallel squeezing force to the head. The sheet metal surrounding the head cold flows into an undercut, locking the fastener in place without the need for welding or adhesives. A serrated clinching ring around the nut ensures it will not rotate after installation, providing high pushout and torque-out resistance.

Type S nuts are made from Zinc Coated steel and are recommended for installation in steel or aluminium sheets of HRB 80 / HB150 or less. They are not recommended for Stainless Steel applications.
